That’s a lot, actually. Whether white or blue, it is an unmatched source of proteins and vitamins, especially group B, D, A and E.

It contains unsaturated fats, also known as “good fats”. These are divided into monounsaturated, are those that increase the levels of good cholesterol and reduce the bad and polyunsaturated, those that does not generate the organism and, therefore, we have to get it from food, such as Omega 3 and 6.

There are countless studies that talk about the health benefits of this food. It is known to help reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease or prevent others such as osteoporosis. A recent study relates its frequent consumption to a decrease in the risk of multiple sclerosis.

On the other hand, being easy to digest and its low calorie content, make it especially suitable now that we approach the summer.

The conclusion is obvious: we must adapt it to our diet every week. Not surprisingly, nutritionists recommend a minimum intake of this food three times a week.
