The Navelina orange is the first collection.
Discovered in Riverside, California, in 1910 as a spontaneous mutation of Washington Navel, originally was given the name of Smith‘s Early Navel.
In 1933, the University of California sent her to the Valencian Institute of agricultural research of Spain, where he was given the name of Navelina. Interestingly the variety not spread commercially until 1968, year in which was given to nurseries and after which acquired great commercial importance.
